The roots of SCF can be traced back to its humble beginnings, initiated by a group of young students of sociology and passionate social activists from Hala and Hyderabad. Their mission was simple yet impactful: to reach out to the marginalized populations residing in the rural and urban slums of Sindh. Their primary objective was to provide free blood screening and blood donation services. To achieve this, they engaged young individuals, forming community-based youth groups, who played a pivotal role in facilitating blood donation to those in dire need within their communities. This initiative aimed to save lives and foster a sense of social responsibility among the youth. Over time, SCF evolved its approach, shifting from mere charity to sustainable development. The organization actively engaged community members to collectively address their social service needs, thus fostering a spirit of self-reliance and empowerment.
SCF's overarching vision is to create an inclusive, equitable, and just society, transcending divisions of color, caste, and gender. The organization remains dedicated to reaching the unreached and often neglected segments of society. Its core focus is on fostering effective and sustainable development at the grassroots level, particularly among vulnerable populations. Initially centered on youth development and social change, SCF later expanded its programmatic reach to encompass the empowerment of women and girls, rural communities, and agricultural workers.

SCF aspires to empower communities to become self-sustained, ensuring that every member enjoys the opportunity to live a dignified life. Over the years, the organization has broadened its scope of activities to address various sectors, including education, gender-based violence, economic justice, economic empowerment, youth engagement, disaster risk reduction, climate and environmental justice, human rights, governance, and peacebuilding. SCF plays a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of marginalized segments of society, ensuring that their concerns are brought to the forefront and heard by policymakers. The organization actively collaborates with local entities, government authorities, and other stakeholders to create empowered, self-sustained communities that have access to essential facilities and services. SCF's commitment lies in driving long-term, transformative change, avoiding quick-fix solutions.
In recognition of its outstanding contributions, SCF has been honored with the "Just Climate Solution Award" at COP27 in Egypt. This award was presented to SCF in acknowledgment of its tireless efforts to advance labor rights for women cotton workers in the face of rising temperatures and the impacts of climate change in Sindh. The award was granted by Women Engage for Common Future, the United Nations Climate Technology Centre & Network (UNCTCN), and the Women and Gender Constituency.
